The hot spring is situated near the village of Rundugai, about 72 kilometers (45 miles) from the town of Moshi and not far from the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. The water in Chemka Hot Spring is sourced from the Kilimanjaro underground aquifer, and it's famous for its stunning blue color, which is a result of minerals dissolved in the water.

Visitors often enjoy swimming in the warm water of the spring, which maintains a relatively constant temperature throughout the year. The crystal-clear water is also great for snorkeling, as you can see the bottom and various underwater formations. The area around the hot spring is surrounded by lush vegetation, creating a serene and relaxing environment.
